The LOSD Global Research Conference was a chance to revisit a previous version of myself that had been put on the backburner. Made many new friends from around the globe and I was impressed by the success of many of the speakers born against odds and adversity.
The first contact was at a conference in October 2022 in Paris where my wife, Yanick Seide, was a keynote speaker. We made many new friends from around the globe and I was impressed by the success of many of the speakers born against odds and adversity. Dr. Parin became an acquaintance of my wife who was invited as a eminent speaker at the LOSD GRC conference in Cambridge University in May 2023.
I accompanied Yanick as a delegate. Once again, I found myself in the company of ambitious and successful women from around the globe who had differentiated themselves in their respective fields or entrepreneurism. However, above that was the camaraderie and warm spirited engagement of the attendees and presenters. This modified my perception of academic pursuits.
Although I had strong academic pursuits in my university years, I had followed other career paths so the exercise of putting the talk together and the paper that followed re-ignited my passion for history and it’s influence and relevance today. That alone was a new milestone for me. The LOSD Global research conference was a chance to revisit a previous version of myself that had been put on the backburner.
Again, the biggest impact of this conference was to mingle with others far more learned than myself in their various fields or entrepreneurial endeavours. The fellowship was cordial but warm, new friends and acquaintances were made. It was an opportunity to redefine myself as a global citizen with something to offer, something to discuss, and an opportunity to be heard.
